DotDigital Terms of Use

DotDigital is provided to University of Missouri and UM System units (a college/school or business unit) for the purpose of creating and sending mass emails in accordance with the University of Missouri mass email policy.
General Requirements:
- All emails must adhere to University of Missouri policies for digital communications:
- Accessibility – All email must meet accessibility guidelines.
- Logos and Branding – All University of Missouri brand policies must be followed.
- Digital Standards and Style Guidelines – All current digital standards and style guidelines must be utilized appropriately.

DotDigital User Responsibilities:
As a marketing and communications specialist at the University of Missouri, you have a responsibility to ensure that these policies are upheld. Digital Service performs periodic checks of emails and will contact users about issues that are discovered.
- DotDigital is supported at the unit level. Access is limited to two individuals per unit - a primary and a backup user.
- Users of DotDigital are required to attend training on the proper use of DotDigital for sending mass emails before they will be granted access.
- All users of DotDigital are required to become familiar with the DotDigital documentation.
- DotDigital access is only granted to units sending a minimum of one campaign/month.
- Access is granted only to University of Missouri or UM System employees. No access will be granted to students, graduate assistants, or courtesy appointments.
- Permissions granted include the ability to create and send emails, generate reports and view bounces.
- Units must agree to view and work only on their own campaigns. Accessing any other campaigns is prohibited.
- The JOSCM DotDigital service is used for mass emails going to MU campus email addresses and external email address for people who have an existing relationship with the University. Email is sent via segments or custom address books.
- Audience list availability is limited to only the address books specific to the user.
- Segments are large, internal audiences which are refreshed from PeopleSoft. Permission to use segments is limited and must be approved by JOSCM leadership.
- Occasionally, staff may require elevated rights within DotDigital. Elevated rights give staff the ability to use, change or modify email lists, segments and settings relied upon by all DotDigital users. Staff granted elevated rights are required to agree that their use is restricted to utilizing only those additional features and capabilities necessary to complete their assigned tasks. (i.e., update custom email lists, create and print usage reports, etc.).
- All emails must be generated in accordance with the MU Mass Email Policy.
- Emails must adhere to the CAN-SPAM Act.
- All Emails must adhere to the UM Digital Accessibility Policy.

Failure to adhere to the terms of use for this service will result in DotDigital access being suspended or removed.
